If you have a little space available
near a washing machine hookup, this is a very simple and quick method of
installing a Reverse Osmosis unit. This method requires no plumbing
skill at all! |

![]() Faucet 'Y' adapter |
All you need is a faucet ‘Y’ adapter and a hose adapter fitting for the
RO unit. If you want to hang the
unit you will need two screws and maybe some drywall plugs. |

Turn off the COLD water valve, which is usually the valve on the right. Unscrew the hose from the washing machine. Screw on the faucet adapter. Now screw the washing machine fill hose back on to one of the two adapter water supplies |

Slip the hose adapter fitting onto the end of the RO fill line (usually
red). It just pushes on. Now screw the hose adapter from the RO unit
onto the water supply fitting on the faucet ‘Y’ . |

Take the wastewater drain line from the RO unit (usually black) and
insert it into the washing machine drain pipe. Make sure it cannot slip
out. |

Last, secure the clean water line
(usually blue) into a collection container, bucket or tank. Turn on the
main water valve that you shut off to start the installation. If your
‘Y’ adapter has on/off valve, make sure they are turned on. Open the
stopcock on the clean water line and the unit should start to fill. Make
sure there are no leaks anywhere. Water will begin to come out the
wastewater drain line immediately and in a few minutes you should start
to see some output from the clean water line.
I suggest that you also consider
adding a float valve to your collection tank. This will automatically
shut off the RO and the water supply when your tank is full. We have
these in stock. If you have questions please check with us for help! |
