What is an Encounter?
Kangaroo encounters are 15 minute experiences that allow you to get up close and personal with a baby kangaroo. Participants are able to hold a roo (within its' cloth pouch), snuggle and take unlimited photos!
How much does it cost?
The Kangaroo Encounter is $40 per person.

- Participants are required to arrive 10 minutes before their schedule encounter time.
- Encounters must be booked a minimum of 24 hours in advance.
- Day of walk-in requests are subject to availability.
- Prior to making a booking, you must notify Beverly's Pet Center of any disability that may prevent you or your companion/s or a participant from understanding directions, or that could result in unpredictable behavior that interferes with a persons mobility.
- You and your companion/s or the participant must have the ability to fully comprehend and follow any directions/orders given by the employee(s), during the encounter at any time.
- Any participants under the age of 18 is required to have a paid adult participant in attendance.
- Participants must be two years of age or older.
- Groups can range from 2-6 attendants. A group may be made up of multiple parties.
FAQ
- What should I wear?
- Anything that makes you comfortable! Guests will be sitting for most of the encounter. The room is air condition and the flooring is laminate wood (sandals are just fine!).
- Can I take pictures?
- Please! Take as many as you wish!
- Beverly's Pet Center employees are not responsible for taking photos OR looking after cameras.
- My child is under 4 years of age, do I have to pay for them to attend the encounter?
- Any participant 4 years of age or older is required to pay the $40.00 fee for the encounter.
- Can children (under the age of 18) do an encounter alone?
- Participants under the age of 18 must have a minimum of one paid participant (18 or older) attending with them. If an adult is not in attendance it will be considered a cancellation and no refund will be provided.
- How long will I be at the store?
- Participants are required to be at the store 10 minutes before their encounter time. Signing waivers, reviewing of rules/procedures and meeting with the kangaroo is approximately 15 minutes.
- Are there other animals?
- Beverly's Pet Center is a full line pet store with various animals available to view and purchase. On this encounter the baby kangaroo is the only animal being interacted with.
- Do I have to sign a wavier?
- Yes, all participants must have a signed wavier before their encounter. Waivers will be signed on site at Beverly's Pet Center.
Cancellation Policy
- Bookings and gift card purchases are non-refundable.
- Bookings can be transferred to another person’s name, provided they meet the terms and conditions of the encounter/tour.
- Any changes to an existing booking can only be done by calling Beverly's Pet Center (954) 322-2787.
- Rescheduling an existing booking can be done up to 5 days prior to your Tour/Encounter. If another date cannot be chosen at the time, a voucher/s can be issued to book at a later date at your convenience.
- Bookings cancelled within 48 hours of your Encounter will result in forfeiture of 100% of the full fee. No transfer of booking date will be offered (with the exception of medical & other emergencies in which case you will be asked to provide supporting documentation. Fees will apply).
- If the store cancels an Encounter for any reason before it has started (eg weather, Covid-19, staff shortages) then a full refund will be provided if rescheduling is not an option for the customer.
- If you miss your booked time as a result of being late or through simply not showing up, you will not be permitted to re-schedule and you will forfeit any monies paid.
- If participants show up after the Encounter start time their Encounter will be forfeited and a refund will not be provided.
